As of this year 2015, the simple answer is – NO. In 1995, all of the Organochlorins (Heptachlor & Dieldrin etc) became banned from use for termite treatments due to high toxicity and effects on us humans, animals and the environment.
As per the manufacturers labels, these products only has a life expectancy of 20 years both in the ground or on the shelf. Some uneducated Pest Controllers thought that if you double the the strength, it should last twice as long!
“Like energy drinks, just drink heaps of them in the morning and you’ll party through midnight:) ”
This year, we have reached the 20 year life expectancy of all of the Organochlorins and this needs to known by home owners who think that their home is protected from termites forever because it was treated with “the good stuff” but is now actually no longer protected.
Embrace the knowledge that between 1995-2002 there were some questionable products on the market but, since then, finally the good stuff has arrived!!! Like adhesives and paints they has improved over time with technology. Both Termidor and Altriset are targeted to termites, have unbelievable proven transfer properties, are safe for us and our families, animals and environment, are odorless and still have life expectancies close to 10 years! Seriously, who has the real good stuff???
We do!!!……At Conquer Termites we are accredited applicators of both Termidor and Altriset and are up to date with the proven handling of termites and these unsurpassed modern chemicals.
