Recently, my work colleague, Dan Kemp found active termites in some loose timbers beneath his customers home during their annual inspection. There were no active termites found inside house but they decided to go ahead with Dan’s recommended termite treatment as they didn’t want the termites any closer than that!
They also asked us to conduct an inspection at their investment property in a different suburb. This time, I was allocated the job and without both the owners or tenants knowledge, active termites were coincidently found inside a toilet door frame of their second property.
Further into this inspection, I found both high levels of moisture in the wall at the base of this door frame and my Thermal camera found a few temperature anomalies (the darker shaded area) in close proximity to the visual evidence.
I issued the inspection report that same afternoon which consisted of these colour photo’s which was valuable for the owners as they were unable to attend the property at the time. Given these concerns, I recommended a more invasive inspection and now with permission of the owner, will be conducted early this week which will confirm the extent of the termite activity.
Most homes in S/E Queensland will have a termite history at some time in their lives but for both of our customers properties needing termite treatments at the exact same time in two different suburbs is truly very unfortunate for them.
We at Conquer Termites Gold Coast have genuine ethics and with the amount of treatment work needing to be conducted for adequate protection to both properties, we came up with a discounted price and an interest free payment plan to help “soften the blow” for our customers.
